Keeping up with the snow

It has been an unusually snowy winter this year and, without our usual January thaw, we are running out of places to put the snow and are struggling to move equipment around. Where we had previously been able to get up the hill with the skidsteer, the farm road has drifted shut and the prospect of slowly plowing the half mile to the top of the hill is daunting.

While the snow has been hard on the farmers, the cows have enjoyed it. On "warmer" days, we have caught them frolicking between the barn and the parlor, kicking up their heels and prancing in preparation for spring.

Our driveway must be plowed before the milk truck can pick up our milk.
